Our client is a global provider of commercial leasing and asset finance solutions.

Your function:

As an Asset Sales and Trading Specialist you will be responsible for developing new and expanding current channels to purchase suitable assets. 

You will also be responsible for remarketing used equipment sourced from internal contracts or obtained via asset trading from third party sources. 

You will also be accountable to diversify and develop local asset sales channels, maximise the proceeds out of the sale of used assets, and create opportunities for incremental income. Develop partnerships in new and existing markets and develop channels to reach customers (buyers and sellers). The primary focus will be on the UK but you will also support and initiate European Remarketing activity as needed.

You will provide technical knowledge and expertise with regards to Construction, Transport and Agriculture assets. You will be based in the UK.

Core responsibilities:

• Day to day responsibility for the assigned trading and sales activities of Construction, Transport and Agri assets in UK , also promoting and supporting international remarketing.

• Identify, develop and maintain new purchase and remarketing channels in the UK and implement these channels.

• Structure partnerships to facilitate the new markets and channels and manage these partnerships. Set up the partnerships following the company guidelines with regards to risk management, legal/compliance and commercial considerations

• Develop an extensive database of seller and buyer contacts across the targeted region for the identified asset types and institute a rigorous and pro-active contact and follow up strategy to create awareness and develop relationships and industry contacts.

• Research and analyse the specific technical requirements of the targeted markets and develop an understanding of the market price level for these plans. E.g. information around preferred brands and asset types as well as desired age, condition, etc.

• Ability to perform detailed technical asset inspections and provide necessary reports and photos to support remarketing activity.

• Advise on the best possible channel diversification resulting in the appropriate assets being sourced for inventory and ultimately sold to the right markets for the most optimum proceeds in line with profit margin target.

• Manage and monitor local inventory including ensuring that the assets are in good working condition at all times and that days in stock and inventory amounts are within agreed parameters.

• Support members throughout the wider organisation to make use of the newly developed channels. Create opportunities to develop global relationships within the business and create awareness about trading activities.

• Facilitate international sales, export/import, logistics, documents, duties, payments, letter of credit, Inco terms, export insurance, etc.

• Contribute to the development, implementation, usage, and alignment of local systems and tools for inventory remarketing to enable more international remarketing

Your profile:

• Minimum 5 years experience in sales/trading in a national setting with a strong business background.

• Experience in targeted markets required

• Extensive technical knowledge and experience with construction, transport and agricultural equipment.

• Able to converse on technical level regarding the asset with potential sellers and buyers.

• Capable of operating and demonstrating the assets and identify and handle maintenance needs as required

• Tactical view and broad knowledge of international asset trading.

• Broad and deep knowledge of markets, purchasing channels, sales channels, international sale, export, logistics, documents, payments, letter of credit, Inco terms, export insurance, duties, country sanctions, etc.

• Strong commercial presence including high level of interactive, presentation and communication skills. Leadership and project management skills preferable.

• Ability to operate independently and make decisions within established parameters

• Experience in structuring and formalizing of partnerships.
